1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser
Here is a video on my 1957 Mercury Turnpike Cruiser. The Turnpike Cruiser had pretty well every dream car styling cliche rolled into one car! Of particular interest were the four headlights - one of the very first American cars to feature this. In fact, in some states, only two headlights were legal, so there are versions made with only two headlights - like some of the Chryslers of the day. Also interesting and unique were the twin antennas that protruded out of the roof top air vents. Very Martian. 👽🛸 Then there was the electric rear window, the push button automatic, the tachometer and the square top steering wheel! Roll it all up and you have a cool car powered by the Lincoln 368 cubic inch V8. The same engine as found in the Continental Mark II. Please support the channel in a big way.
