Driving and shifting the old SM465 1983 GMC K1500 Sierra Classic

Taking the blue bastard truck out for a drive. First real drive since January before the body work was done on it. I stopped at a gas station down the road from my brothers house and he wanted to come for a ride so we made a quick trip the Canadian Tire and drove around for a bit. This Canadian built truck has the legendary SM 465 transmission in it. From what I hear its among the toughest trannies you can get for a truck this size. I've never gone 4x4ing in this truck but apparently its popular for that too. Personally I prefer an automatic Turbo 400 like my old 1985 Chevy Silverado Camper Special C20 had. Its fun driving these old trucks. Luckily this one was upgraded to a 350 from a 305 so its got a little more power. I figured I'd put the plates on it today so I can get most of my tidying up done before I sell this truck and make room for the next one once we're moved into the new house.
