Air Compressor For Framing Nailer - Will It Run With Small Compressor ??
Some of us who want to do some repair jobs in our homes usually have a framing nail gun and gone are the days when carpenters were building our homes with nails and hammers. A nail gun can make it easy for us to nail wood so effortlessly and without much strain on the hands. But we also know that without an air compressor for framing nailers, the nail gun will be useless. In this video I will show you what kind of a framing nail gun can be suitable for the size of an air compressor to do an efficient job. And yes, it is important that we know the compressor size for framing nailer because all nail guns work by a pneumatic process which means compressed air is used to force down the nail into the wood. So the larger the air compressor, the more it can handle continuous use of a nail gain. But what will be the best criteria in choosing an air compressor if you have a large nail gun and what’s the suitable size for the compressor if you’re just using a mid-size nail gun so you don’t need to buy an oversized air compressor? You will see that I’m using a direct-driven air compressor with an air capacity of 24 liters and with a maximum capacity of 110 psi. With this size, I can say this is just a mid-size air compressor best for a home garage. So I tested my 2 framing nail guns and saw how many shots each can get before it activates the compressor again. Also, I have done this video to let you know if a large nail gun would be suitable for use if you’re only having a 24-liter capacity air compressor as well as how much the small nail gun can fare very well with the size of my compressor. So if you’re choosing an air compressor for framing nailer and want to make sure the unit can provide enough pneumatic power to a large nail gun, I should advise that you choose a larger capacity air compressor so that it can work a long way without your work getting hampered by the lack of power and air from a smaller unit. But if you’re only having a small to medium size nail gun, the right compressor size for framing nailer can be handled by a medium-sized air compressor like what I have in this video. That’s why I’m showing you the gauges of the unit to let you see how much air is being used by both small and large nail guns.
