Rails Made of Silver: The Durango & Silverton Railroad
In May of 2019, we chased the trains on the famous Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad between the mountain city of Durango, and the booming mining town of Silverton, Colorado. Filmed over the course of several days, scenes in this video are presented in geographic order, instead of filming order. So lighting will be different, or in some cases, weather. We followed trains 461/462, powered by K-28 Class "Sport Model" number 476, and trains 463/464, powered first by K-36 Class number 480, and later by K-36 Class number 482. We hope you enjoy this ride along the historic rails of the Durango & Silverton!
