TEDxCalgary - Alanna Mitchell - Sea Sick: Ocean in Crisis

Alanna Mitchell is a Canadian author and journalist who writes about global science issues. She specializes in investigating changes to the earth's life-support systems and travels the world in search of scientists at the centre of what's going on. In this talk she tells the often humorous story of her journey into the ocean in a submersible. But ultimately she reveals the hidden crisis of the global ocean and the need to be concerned about it. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
