Marcos underscores the transformative power of collaboration between the United States of America (USA) and the Philippines in terms of trade and investment as he welcomes the U.S. Government Delegation and the Presidential Trade and Investment Mission (PTIM) delegation during a courtesy call at the President’s Hall in Malacañan Palace on March 11, 2024. “The Philippines recognizes the importance of international partnerships and is dedicated to providing a conducive and supportive environment for business endeavors… In recent years, our nation has witnessed sustained economic growth, underscoring our steadfast commitment to maintaining a business-friendly environment for the global market and affirming our position as a competitive player in the global value chain,” said President Marcos Jr. Furthermore, President Marcos Jr. states that the country’s performance in 2023 exceeded projections from esteemed multilateral organizations and private analysts, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the ASEAN+3 Macroeconomic Research Office (AMRO) and the World Bank. “Looking ahead to 2024, we remain optimistic about achieving even faster GDP growth. Our resilience and adaptability in the face of both domestic and external challenges highlight our commitment to economic reforms, sustainable development and proactive policymaking,” remarks the President. He also highlights that with the support of young and well-educated Filipinos, the nation can effectively drive its progress and development by leveraging its strategic business locations. He further notes that ongoing collaborative efforts showcase a dedication to adapting to the ever-changing demands of the digital age workforce. “We must foster inclusivity and contribute to the overall economic development of the Philippines,” the President reiterates. To this end, the Chief Executive emphasizes that the United States is an essential strategic trading and investment ally for the Philippines.
