Windsurfing and winging in strong & gusty wind at Grafham Water, 16th July 2023

Sunday 16th July was a wild and gusty afternoon as another unseasonal low tracked across the UK. Unfortunately for us windsurfers the promised swing around to a westerly direction never really happened so those heading out on to the water had to deal with some wind shadow and then full on strong winds further out in the SSW conditions. Tony and Fake Tony (Jonesy) showed dedication and skill befitting of those who have a lifetime to build up their skills and experience, their Mistral Flows being admirably put through their paces - the retro boys did good! As for the rest of the fleet there was moments of crazy madness, hanging on for dear life in the gusts whilst occasionally being settled and momentarily at least enjoying the experience out on the water. I also captured some wing foiling moments, my apologies to Roly for featuring his wipe out - it really was too good to leave out! I did compensate for that moment by featuring his successful foiling gybe later in the video.
