🎺 Musikkapellen aus Osttirol: Echte Tiroler Blasmusik

15 brass bands 🎶 from the music districts of Lienzer Talboden, Pustertal-Oberland and Iseltal march up in their typical local costumes. Whether at the weekly square concert, at the parade or on a church festival day - in East Tyrol the tradition is still high. Besides the jagged Tyrolean marching music, waltzes & polkas, as well as hits in rock & pop belong to the repertoire of the music bands. How did the bands actually come about? Where does the brass music come from? 🤔 Brass music is derived from military music. In the past, this music was often called "war music" or "battle music", as it was originally used to deter the enemy. At the time of Emperor Maximilian I, brass and wood instruments were combined to form brass choirs, which resemble today's brass music. Even percussion instruments were introduced. Due to the Turkish Wars, Turkish percussion instruments such as the bass drum and cymbals were integrated into European brass music. With the introduction of marching in step, the beginning of marching music was made, which at first was only played by pipes and drums.
