In this video test of the new Citroën C5 Aircross, we examine the Shine version with the 180 hp 2.0 HDi engine paired with the 8-speed EAT8 automatic transmission. Comfort is the most notable aspect of this model, to the point that it can be considered one of the most comfortable cars on the market, even compared to luxury sedans. The trick is its shock absorbers with progressive hydraulic dampers and tires that, despite their 18-inch wheels, have plenty of cushioning. In addition to being extremely comfortable, it's a car that conveys a very good driving experience. It's a shame that Citroën didn't put a little more care into the quality of some of the interior plastics and doesn't offer a little more legroom for rear passengers. With higher-quality materials and a little more space in the rear, the Citroën C5 Aircross would be one of the best buys in the current midsize SUV market. Compared to rivals like the Peugeot 3008, Hyundai Tucson, DS 7 Crossback, or the more recent Seat Tarraco, the Citroën wins in terms of comfort and equipment, but its rivals have other advantages, as you'll see in this video. In terms of fuel consumption, the Citroën C5 Aircross offers good range thanks to fairly low fuel consumption figures and a generously sized fuel tank, making long journeys no problem, easily covering 800 km without refueling.
