The Mocho-Choshuenco National Reserve is located in the municipality of Panguipulli, Valdivia Province, Los Ríos Region. It was created on August 29, 1994, and covers approximately 7,537 hectares. Its territory protects temperate rainforests, high mountain areas, and glaciers associated with the Mocho-Choshuenco volcanic complex, conserving ecosystems representative of southern Chile and providing habitat for native fauna such as the pudú, the puma, and various birds of prey. We visited the reserve in early March 2026, making it our fifteenth national reserve on this new journey.
