Current Dell and other brand laptops have a function that can be configured through the BIOS, allowing the functions of the F1, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9, F10, F11, and F12 keys to be reversed. Instead of using their standard functions, pressing these keys will cause the laptop to perform actions such as increasing or decreasing volume, muting the laptop audio, increasing or decreasing screen brightness, or even turning off the wireless network. In this video, I will show you how to change the BIOS configuration of a Dell laptop so that the function keys have their standard functions without needing to use the FN key. The FN key is located next to the Ctrl key and the Windows key (the key with the Windows flag symbol).
