Un megaoperativo policial en Tigre desmanteló una banda que comercializaba droga

Following a report from neighbors to the "0800-DROGA NO" hotline, provincial security forces, along with the Tigre Operations Center (COT), carried out eight raids and arrested seven people. They seized narcotics, items for their division and distribution, firearms, cash, and a motorcycle with a forfeit warrant. With the support of the Tigre Operations Center, various provincial security forces dismantled a drug-dealing gang in the San Jorge neighborhood of Don Torcuato. The call to the municipal anonymous tip line "0800-DROGA NO" was the starting point, and the raids led to the arrest of seven people. They also seized narcotics, items for their division and distribution, firearms, cash, and a motorcycle with a forfeit warrant. “Thanks to the joint effort between the police force and the COT, we have dismantled a group dedicated to drug trafficking in this neighborhood. As we always say, the excellent outcome of the procedure is due to the efforts of each party involved,” emphasized Diego Callegari, head of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office for Illicit Drug Investigations. Following the neighbors' notification, personnel from the Criminal Image Analysis Laboratory (LAIC) and the Baires Bancalari Police Station conducted a seven-month investigation, during which they gathered information on the gang's operations through wiretaps, security camera footage, and prior buyer diligence. Subsequently, under the direction of the Tigre Illicit Drug Investigation Unit and the Tigre Court of Guarantees No. 5, they carried out a massive operation with the collaboration of 120 officers from the Departmental Support Group (GAD) of San Isidro and Tres de Febrero, the Infantry and Cavalry Corps, and personnel in charge of all Tigre departments and sub-departments, as well as the Tigre Sub-DDI. The operation also had the logistical and technological support of the Tigre Citizen Protection System, through its operations center, which provided video surveillance equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), ambulances, and patrol vehicles. In this regard, Eduardo Feijoo, the Operations Undersecretary in charge of the Secretariat of Citizen Protection, stated: "From our department, as we regularly do in these types of processes, we provide our technology to eradicate this scourge that affects our society. The application of these tools represents a change in the way we fight drug trafficking." With a total of eight raids carried out in the San Jorge neighborhood, two of them requested urgently, seven members of the gang investigated for drug trafficking were arrested. In addition, 700 doses of cocaine hydrochloride, 1,020 bags of marijuana, a 16-gauge shotgun, five intact cartridges of the same caliber, 60 12/70-gauge cartridges, and 47 intact 9-millimeter cartridges were seized. In addition, they seized cutting and packaging equipment, cell phones, precision scales, 30,000 pesos in cash, and a motorcycle with an active seizure order. It is worth noting that thanks to the "0800-DROGA NO" (3764) hotline, residents throughout the district can file anonymous reports, which are then analyzed and appropriate action taken. In addition, Tigre has more than 1,500 cameras distributed throughout the district, which monitor and report incidents of insecurity, traffic accidents, and any other act that disrupts public order. All of this is supported by the Citizen Protection, Civil Defense, and Traffic units that patrol each district in groups, responding quickly to any alerts.
