Welcome back to the #patricksupercars Channel ✈️ Today for the Vintage column, we're talking about: The Fiat 131 2000 TC, where "TC" stands for "Turismo Competizione," is a version of the Fiat 131 equipped with a 2-liter, 16-valve engine derived from the Abarth version. This engine, developed by Abarth, delivered 140 hp in the road version with a twin-barrel Weber carburetor, and up to 225 hp in the racing versions with mechanical injection, later increased to 245. The 131 2000 TC was also used in the World Rally Championship, achieving significant successes, including three manufacturers' titles and a world championship for drivers. The Fiat 131 2000 TC was produced in several versions, the best-known of which is the Fiat 131 Abarth Rally, a racing version created for the World Rally Championship. This version, equipped with a 2-liter engine with mechanical injection and an Abarth tuning kit, achieved significant victories and helped make the Fiat 131 famous in the racing world. In addition to the rally version, there was also a road-going version of the 131 2000 TC, called the Fiat 131 Racing 2000 TC, which featured a 2-liter, 16-valve engine with a twin-barrel carburetor. While this version lacked the performance of the racing version, it still offered a good dose of power and sportiness. Another interesting version is the Fiat 131 2000 TC Supermirafiori Volumetrico Abarth, produced in 1982 in just 188 units. It featured a 2-liter supercharged engine with a Volumex supercharger, delivering 140 hp. This rarer and more sought-after version combined the comfort of the Supermirafiori version with the sportiness of the supercharged Abarth engine. In short, the Fiat 131 2000 TC is a car that has left its mark on the history of Italian motoring, both for its sporting performance and its presence in rally competitions.
