Power for Food Partnership (Farmer's Day-26th July)

What does it take to build a climate-resilient agricultural future? Recently in Kayonza District, that question brought together hundreds of farmers, development partners, local leaders, renewable energy companies, financial institutions and agricultural stakeholders for Farmers' Day, organized through the Power for Food Partnership under the theme: "Accelerating the RA-PURE Nexus for Climate Resilience." From the moment the event began, one message was clear... When regenerative agriculture and renewable energy come together, farmers are empowered with practical solutions that strengthen productivity, improve resilience, and create lasting impact. The day started with engaging discussions on the role of Regenerative Agriculture (RA) and the Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE) in transforming farming systems. Farmers explored how sustainable agricultural practices, combined with clean energy technologies, can help them adapt to climate change while improving their livelihoods. Learning quickly turned into action as participants visited live technology demonstrations and exhibition booths, where companies showcased innovative solutions from solar-powered irrigation and agro-processing technologies to other productive energy applications designed to support modern agriculture. The day concluded by recognizing and awarding outstanding farmers whose commitment to innovation and sustainable farming is helping inspire communities across the region. Beyond the demonstrations and exhibitions, Farmers' Day was a reminder that meaningful transformation happens through collaboration. By bringing together farmers, technology providers, government institutions, and development partners, we are creating stronger pathways to accelerate the adoption of climate-smart, energy-enabled agriculture. Together, we are accelerating the RA-PURE nexus and shaping a more resilient and sustainable future for agriculture.
