John Imbriale, often known as “Johnny I,” spent 44 years with NYRA before retiring as track announcer in 2024. His NYRA career began in 1979 after he won a New York Daily News contest that gave him the chance to call a race and work in the NYRA press office. He joined the America’s Day at the Races set to reflect on Aqueduct Racetrack and the role The Big A played in his life and career.
