Unfortunately, a 35-liter bag usually fills up in minutes, mostly with plastics and cans left along the paths. Every forest deserves respect, and this one is an example of a place once transformed by industry, which, after its closure, was reclaimed by nature. In the 19th century, the Brandenburg and Paulus mines operated here, and between 1848 and 1850, the Sophienshaft (Sophienschacht) was built to feed the latter. After a mining disaster, it was closed after less than 30 years, and today all that remains of it is... the street name.
