Old against new 338 Win mags
Budget rifle against oldschool "rifleman's rifle". The pre 64 Winchester model 70 is an older custom job, chambered in 338 Win mag, having a 24" stainless Gretan barrel, Brown PoundR stock, and simple SFP Zeiss 3-9x42 with RZ6 reticle. Running my "elk" load on this steel coyote. Rifle weighs in at 8 pounds scoped. It's excellent "elk medicine", as it is set up: Keeping it simple. Just the way I like it. The new rifle is a Ruger American, in a burnt bronze cerakote, with a 3 round DBM, 8-32x56 Discovery Opt FFP scope. Rifle weighs in at 11.67 pounds. Thanks for watching.
