Taurus Engine Swap into a Ford Escape Part 1- removal and dissasembly

Part 2:    • Taurus Engine Into A Ford Escape Part 2 - ...   Engine Teardown:    • Knocking 3.0 Duratec teardown   The 3.0 v6 Duratec in this 2003 Ford Escape has a severe knock and misfires on 3 of the 6 cylinders. It is being replaced with a 3.0 Duratec from a 2003 Ford Taurus. Although they are the same a 3.0 Duratec from a Taurus is far cheaper than it's Escape counterpart. Fitment info for 01 - 03 Ford Escape: 01 - 03 Mazda Tribute engines are a direct fit 01 - 03 Ford Taurus Duratec Engines will fit with some parts swapping 04 Taurus's received Aluminum Valve covers but otherwise appear identical Pre 2001 Taurus engines will NOT fit without swapping heads and camshafts
