Hello everyone! In this video, I'll show the results of testing 13 carrot varieties and hybrids grown on my property in the Urals. Our soil is very challenging: sandy, but also heavy and compact, making it extremely difficult to grow beautiful, even carrots. Every year, I continue my experiments in the hopes of finding varieties that can form straight, neat roots even in these conditions. This season didn't bring any surprises: most of the carrots grew crooked, forked, and gnarled. But among the 13 participants, there were three varieties and hybrids that demonstrated the best tolerance to heavy soil and deserve attention. I'll also tell you: 🥕 which varieties were the most productive; 🥕 which carrots delighted with their smooth skin; 🥕 which roots grew into true giants; 🥕 which varieties I recommend for light soils; 🥕 What a harvest I managed to get from two beds. Despite the peculiar shape of the root vegetables, the yield was impressive – from two beds 7 meters long and 80 cm wide, I harvested 10 ten-liter bags of carrots!
