In my opinion, Nicușor Dan no longer acts as an arbitrator, but in partnership with the PSD, and the nomination of Eugen Tomac and the subsequent reactions have confirmed this direction. The discourse about the “extremist danger” is used as a justification for political decisions that, in reality, strengthen the influence of the PSD. Meanwhile, those who signal this rapprochement are labeled as “sectarians”, instead of discussing the facts. The images and statements of the last few days outline, in my opinion, a political plan prepared in advance: weakening the PNL, attempting to fracture the USR as well, and forming a convenient PSD government. After months of presenting himself as a mediator and opponent of the old system, Nicușor Dan seems to be openly assuming a political direction that I have been signaling since last year. What seems most serious to me is the attempt to present this change as something other than it is.
