How to install Wittner geared tuning pegs
This instructional video shows the tools needed and processes involved with fitting Wittner geared pegs to stringed instruments. These pegs can solve numerous tuning and peg issues without damaging the instrument peg box, and are the only geared model I install and recommend. Here, I explain and demonstrate the processes on a cello, but the same is involved for violins or violas. I hope this is useful to you! Thanks for watching :) Cheers, Paul @windowintomyworkshop820 Email: [email protected] Contents 00:00 Intro and tools 01:05 Removing the old setup 03:00 Reaming the peg hole 05:32 Explaining the geared mechanism and measurements 07:09 Further reaming and peg fitting 12:39 Marking the end for trimming 13:51 Trimming and finishing the end 18:25 Installing the finished pegs 20:04 Refitting the strings
