Dowsing for Gold: We Found Multiple Gold Flakes & a Multi-Hundred Pound Mother Lode!

We returned to the exposed shores of the large hydroelectric lake, driven by the receding waters and the promise of hidden volcanic gold. What we found exceeded all expectations! As we scouted the steep slopes revealed by the drought, our dowsing rods and metal detector pinpointed a massive concentration of gold near beautiful, dark burnt rock formations. After scanning the area, we successfully recovered several smaller gold pieces right from the surface. But the highlight of the trip? A gargantuan burnt rock specimen riddled with clearly visible gold veins. It’s so heavy (estimated at several hundred pounds) that we couldn't move it! We've made the decision to leave it secured until we can return with the necessary heavy mining equipment. This might be the start of our biggest gold mine project of 2025.
