Varusha South Festival | 48 Hours of Music & Fun in Veliko Tarnovo Every August, Veliko Tarnovo hosts the Varusha South Festival — a 48-hour celebration filled with live music, dance, art, and local crafts. The neighbourhood transforms into a lively hub where every corner has something happening, from performers filling the streets with energy, to workshops and creative displays that showcase the talent of the community. We’ve made it a family tradition to come every year, soaking in the atmosphere and enjoying everything the festival has to offer. It’s one of those special events that captures the heart of Bulgarian culture... vibrant, welcoming, and full of life. We’re a Welsh-Kiwi family who moved to Bulgaria permanently in 2023, after buying our village home in 2019 and falling completely in love with the country.
