This time, we visited Mount Aso (Takadake and Nakadake), one of Japan's 100 Famous Mountains, located in Kumamoto Prefecture. We aimed for the summit via the Sunasenri-ga-hama route ⛰️ The landscape, covered in volcanic ash like a black desert, is so otherworldly and overwhelming that it's hard to believe we're in Japan.
