Stockholm Spring Cycle: Nostalgia & New Beginnings

Yes of course it hurts when buds burst. Spring has arrived in Stockholm. The street sweepers are out, the cherry blossoms are in bloom, and it’s time to transition from winter whips to summer skidders. In this video, we examine the arrival of spring through the coexistence of memories and new beginnings. From the pagan roots of Valborg, to testing out the city's newly upgraded, widened cycling infrastructure. I strip down the winter commuter and whip out the fixed-gear track bike that started my real "cycling" journey. We'll take a look at the seasonal rush of fair-weather commuters, stampede of run clubs, and cruise ship tourists as the city blooms back into life. Along the way, I catch up with a some fast messengers, take an archival dig back at my own of digital history by the exact spot where I recorded my very first YouTube video, and accidentally walk right into a local newspaper & TV story @ City Hall. Plus tricking a friend into a bachelor party beep test in a ketchup suit, debate city architecture with protesters, grab some classic fried herring at the old town truck, and hitting the forest singletracks to see how fast my old longboarding buddy Lamin has leveled up on his new bike hobby.
