Theme park "Universal Studios Japan (USJ)" (Konohana Ward, Osaka) is collaborating with the popular anime "Detective Conan" to create "Detective Conan World," a series of four attractions. The real-life escape game "Detective Conan: The Escape," held at USJ for the first time in two years, features an original story that serves as a prequel to the 25th film, "Detective Conan: Halloween's Bride" (directed by Susumu Mitsunaka, released April 15th). In "Detective Conan: The Escape," guests participating in a renewal event for the "Police Archives Museum" become embroiled in a real incident while participating in a mock investigation, and attempt to escape from the museum. In addition to the main characters, including Mouri Ran, Suzuki Sonoko, and Mouri Kogoro, the real-life cast also features Furuya Rei of the Public Security Police and detective duo Takagi Wataru and Sato Miwako of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's First Investigative Division. Guests can enjoy fingerprint investigations, interrogation video analysis, and mystery solving while immersed in the world of "Detective Conan." In addition to "Detective Conan: The Escape," "Detective Conan World" will feature four attractions: "Detective Conan x Hollywood Dream - The Ride," a roller coaster ride in which you can hop in Furuya's beloved RX-7 and get caught up in a car chase; "Detective Conan Mystery Challenge," a mystery-solving rally featuring Osaka native Hattori Heiji, his childhood friend Toyama Kazuha, and the Detective Boys; and "Detective Conan Mystery Restaurant," a restaurant where Furuya's other self, Amuro Toru, appears and allows guests to enjoy solving mysteries. The event will be open for a limited time until August 28 (the restaurant opens on June 5). "Detective Conan" is a manga by Gosho Aoyama that depicts Conan Edogawa solving difficult cases one after another, and began serialization in Weekly Shonen Sunday (Shogakukan) in 1994. An anime TV series has been broadcast since 1996. The comics have sold over 250 million copies worldwide.
