Halina Graboś | 51. Nagroda im. Oskara Kolberga

Halina Graboś, a renowned poet, was born on May 17, 1952, in the village of Ciemno in the Lublin region (Kamionka commune, Lubartów County). She has lived in Kamień (Chełm County) since 1956. She graduated from the Technical School of Economics in Chełm. She worked, among other things, in cooperative institutions and also ran a farm with her husband. She made her first attempts at poetry during her school years, and her more mature work dates back to the 1980s, when, during parental leave, writing became a "springboard" from her daily duties. During this time, she captured her emotions and reflections in poetic form, and through extensive reading, she broadened her cognitive horizons and awakened her aesthetic sensitivity.
