It was too hot on the Caribbean side, but I wish I had come to Guatemala's indigenous Mayan towns sooner. "Coban" is a name you often hear when traveling in Guatemala, but most travelers go to a village called "Rankin" to enjoy Semuc Champey, which Saburo recommended. However, the town of Coban was also fun to walk around, with a stroll through the mercado, fabric stores for ethnic costumes, and second-hand clothing stores. I was particularly impressed by the ridiculously delicious coffee I bought in Coban. The dairy where I bought the sake cheese sold local coffee in packets, and I just happened to be out of coffee, so I bought some. I was tired of all the cheap, commercial coffee at the supermarket, so I brewed it in a moka pot and it was delicious. It was a refreshing coffee with a sour taste and a light bitterness. I was in Guatemala, so I wondered why I had been buying cheap coffee at the supermarket. Since I went to Cobán, I started buying homemade coffee, but the coffee I bought at that dairy is the best so far. So, if you visit Cobán, please do!
