Restoring Hickory Golf Clubs LIVE - Part 1: Finding Pins and Removing Heads
After four years of repairing and restoring hickory golf clubs for play, I'm attempting to collect all of my tips and tricks for taking a club from "flea to green" in a comprehensive LIVE workshop series where I walk you through every step of the refurbishment process. In the Part 1 of the livestream, you'll learn how I: Select the clubs for a beginner play set, considering loft and swing weight Determine appropriate shaft length for loft - 25:30 Find and remove the pin and all of the tricks to tackle a stubborn or invisible pin - 31:40 Use heat to loosen a head for removal - 1:04:39 NOTE: At the 1:08:30 mark, the audio dropped out of the livestream. I'll cover the processes discussed in that section in a future livestream in this series. Ten minutes later, the livestream connection was lost completely and the session was continued in a separate stream, which you can watch here: https://www.youtube.com/live/GDWmIqFM4Uo --- --- --- Christian Williams is The Hickory Hacker - an interactive golf historian with a high handicap, sharing his passion for the game through this channel where he shows how to collect, repair, and play with antique, wood-shafted golf clubs.
