Rasht is one of the unofficial metropolises of Iran, the capital of Gilan province in the north of Iran, and the center of Rasht city, and it is the mother city of Gilan province and parts of neighboring provinces. Rasht is known as the city that always wakes up. This metropolis is also the most populous city in the north of Iran among the three provinces bordering the Caspian Sea and the largest and most populous Gilak city in the world, the largest settlement on the southern shores of the Caspian Sea.
