North Yorkshire Moors Railway - Annual Steam Gala 2018

The North Yorkshire Moors railway held their annual steam gala between September 28th and 30th.2018. In addition to the home fleet, visiting locos this year included Bulleid Battle of Britain class No.34081 '92 Squadron' based at the Nene Valley Railway, GWR 2-8-0 No. 2857 from the Severn Valley Railway and a smaller visitor in the form of Andrew Barclay 0-4-0 'Douglas' from the Talyllyn Railway which was carried on a lowmac vehicle as part of the goods train. The loco is currently carrying a blue livery reflecting its RAF heritage in this centenary year of the Royal Air Force. I visited on Friday and part of Saturday and scenes are as follws; 34081 '92 Squadron' - Esk Valley, Water Ark, Darnholme (banked by 926 'Repton') and Moorgates 63395 and 65894 double heading at Esk Valley and Water Ark 65894 - Darnholme 2857 - Water Ark (banked by 80136) and Beck Hole 1251 - 'Oliver Bury' - Water Ark and piloted by 5428 at Darnholme 76079 - Esk Valley, banked by 926 'Repton' 926 'Repton' - Two views at Water Ark 5428 'Eric Treacy' - Esk Valley, two views at Darnholme and Moorgates.
