We only had about 45 minutes before the sun went down, so it was an exercise in efficiency and prioritizing to capture the gesture of the evening. We worked small and focused mainly on color, value and overall vibe, rather than complicated architecture. This is always the most challenging time of day to paint, as the light moves so quickly, so it’s important to try and go in with a game plan and keep it simple. Plein air painting is definitely more than the painting you bring home, it’s the experience. So like every adventure, we always try to have fun and make the most of it. We hope you enjoy!
