Lake District Walks: Hallin Fell
A short film about an equally short walk. The route from St Peter's church, Martindale, to the top of Hallin Fell is a delight from start to finish. It may be a little steep in places, but the short distance, and start over 700 feet up, makes this a Wainwright Fell that many people who cannot climb the higher fells are able to complete. There are no hazards on the ascent, which Alfred Wainwright claimed (with tongue in cheek) could be done in bare feet. But there are no rock scrambles, or boggy sections. Instead, stunning views reward those who make the short walk to the top.
