Production: Grad Studio (History Lab). © 2021 The documentary project "30 Years of the Collapse of the USSR. History in Faces" is a series of interviews with famous politicians, cultural figures, and athletes who lived and worked during the Soviet era. Eyewitnesses to the collapse of the USSR will discuss the reasons for the demise of the Soviet Union, share their memories of the events of 1991, and offer their assessments of the processes that unfolded in the country at that time. The program pays special attention to the signing of the Belovezhskaya Accords in December 1991. For the first time, unique interviews with all participants of the meeting in Belovezhskaya Pushcha will be shown, including the presidents of the union republics, as well as their advisers and reserve staff. The series includes interviews with the leaders of most of the Soviet republics who became presidents of independent states after 1991. They will provide detailed accounts of the events that took place in the CIS countries in the 1990s and assess the Soviet period in the history of their peoples. The series consists of 25 episodes.
