They tell us we are machines. They tell us that the machines they'll build in twenty or thirty years will surpass us. And I am absolutely convinced that this is not the case, and I rebel against this indoctrination, which isn't even based on facts; it's simply based on a principle of reductionism and materialism: everything that exists is matter, so consciousness must also be matter. This is the only explanation why consciousness exists, according to them. He was the project leader of the Intel 4004, the world's first microprocessor, and the developer of MOS technology, which enabled the fabrication of the first microprocessors. In 1974, he founded Zilog, with which he developed the famous Z80 microprocessor. In 1986, he co-founded Synaptics, with which he developed the first touchpads and touchscreens. In 2010, he received the National Medal for Technology and Innovation from US President Barack Obama for the invention of the microprocessor. In 2011, he founded a nonprofit organization dedicated to the scientific study of consciousness, particularly the difference between the human mind and artificial intelligence (http://www.fagginfoundation.org/it/).
