My Dividend Stock Portfolio Is Up 28.34% In One Year (PPC Ian Portfolio Update)
It's time for my dividend stock portfolio quarterly update. I'm excited to share that my portfolio value is up 28.34% vs. one year ago (and 8.37% in the last quarter). Dividend income is up 11.35% in the last year (and 1.68% in the last quarter). My portfolio's dividend income is up 11.35% in the last quarter. 3:30 Qualified dividends to pay my bills. 3:41 Byproduct of capital appreciation (part of my total returns) 3:51 Great total returns adjusted for risk. 5:04 INSIGHT 2: Expensive Stock Market 5:30 My portfolio's value is up 8.37% in the last quarter. 5:37 My current yield is only 3.22%. 6:04 An expensive stock market is not always the best thing for a dividend growth investor. 6:20 I like Treasuries right now, for my personal situation. 6:48 INSIGHT 3: Slower Dividend Growth 7:07 Over the last quarter, my dividend income has only growth by 1.68%. That's not going to cut it (on an annualized basis). 7:33 My big growth typically comes through in Q4. 8:09 I need to prioritize yield with future purchases. 9:08 Consciously allocated capital to positions like META and SOLS that offer very low starting yields. 9:35 INSIGHT 4: Long-Term Tradeoffs (Help Explain Slower Short-term Income Growth) 10:00 I invest now for future dividend growth (in 10-20 years). 11:26 INSIGHT 5: Persistence Works 11:36 SCHD moves from position 7 to position 6 in my portfolio! 12:03 My number 6 largest position.
