First Time Hearing Gordon Lightfoot - Sundown

I’d heard the name Gordon Lightfoot, but I had no idea what to expect from his music—definitely not this eerie, hypnotic, slow-burn vibe that somehow made me feel like I was both in a saloon and a David Lynch dream sequence. “Sundown” is cool, moody, a little dangerous… and super catchy in that low-key “don’t mess with me” kind of way. The lyrics feel like a warning wrapped in honey. There’s tension in it, and I like that. As a first-time listener, I totally get why people call him a storytelling legend. This was atmospheric in a way that creeps up on you and sticks.
