Hello dear friends, welcome to MOPEG👋. In this virtual tour we walked the streets of the exclusive Parioli and Pinciano districts, in the northern area of the capital. These neighborhoods were officially established in 1921, when 15 new neighborhoods were added to the ancient 'rioni' of Rome following the significant expansion of the city. The Parioli and Pinciano districts, like other districts of the capital, are characterized by long straight streets and elegant buildings, palaces, villas and small villas. The term 'quartiere' in Rome (as well as in other cities), no longer indicates the fourth part of a city as was the case in the Middle Ages or the Renaissance, but indicates a neighborhood outside the city walls that has a different appearance from that of the old 'rioni' that were (andin some cases are) within the city walls and were (and are) characterized by narrow and sometimes tortuous streets. On this walking tour we started from Via Panama at the intersection with Via Lisbona. From there we headed towards Viale Parioli. After a walk along this avenue we moved to the Pinciano district.
