The progeny I call my own had earned an evening out to dinner, at a restaurant of their choice, in reward for their recent good behavior.  The 6 and 8 year old little peoples who carry my name, blood, DNA, facial expressions... my strengths, my flaws, and everything in between (while remaining their own individual identity in amalgamation with their mother's DNA and some unknown quantity of ((possibly infinite)) other human interactive influences) were sitting across the table.  Now... when we go out to eat there's a game we play. Before the server comes to the table I remind my children to pay attention to their breath and then pay attention to the way the server talks (fast, slow, pitch, rhythm, tone etc) the way he/she moves (speed, posture, body language) and if they get any internal feelings in their "gut.” The server usually passes out menus and takes a drink order. Then after they walk away I ask my children some questions. What do you think the server's name is (if not already given) Did they remind you of fire, water, air or earth? What month do you think they were born in? What day (1-30) do you think they were born on? How old do you think the server is? The server returns and drops off the drinks... I remind the children to pay attention. The server leaves. I ask my children what they want to eat... and if they think our server has any pets, how many, and which species. And if they had any pets growing up, and what were the names of those pets. The server come back and we put in our order for dinner. Then I ask the young padawans if they think our server has any siblings, and if they are older or younger. And then, what does the server like to do in their spare time for fun? Do they love music and what kind? Which sports? Genre of reading, video games, art expression? We generally fill about 10 categories. The server brings our food, we say grace, and we eat. At some point the server will return and ask "how is everything?" I'll reply with something like "It's perfect, and also I have a question.... my children and I play this game..." EVERY server we have ever engaged has been eagerly willing to share their personal information. Most servers are people persons, and they delight in the information exchange. That brings us to Cory. There is a local restaurant that features table cloths that are pure white paper. And they give you a box of crayons. This works perfectly for our game as a "scoreboard." And as you may have already guessed, on this one particularly peaceful evening, under the glowing orange sky, sometime in 2019... Cory was our server. The moment I told him what we were doing, his pupils dilated to nearly the circumference of his iris. It was an epic showing of mydriasis, not unlike that seen on the face of Stephen Universe. After a brief discussion of infinite possibilities, it was realized that Cory would benefit from chiropractic. And he agreed to be on this YouTube channel. So that brings us to his visit and I'm running out of characters so.. 1st, I was very excited to get the lefty/ righty "trick" on a video. After 11 years of adjusting you just start to notice things. And spines communicate like old friends drinking perfectly aged whisky. Pretty neat, right? But the pulse reading is the obvious topic. As mentioned, it wasn't just the pulse that told me about his birth trauma. We were deeply entrained in this session. Our total video time was about 2 hours before editing. And I could already feel that Cory had some kind of natural abilities. When I took his pulse there was an interesting signature. A pattern that I had only observed once before, on a deeply intuitive medicine man from south america. As the pulse slithered beneath my fingertips I started to recall Cory's past trauma. The snowboard accident, then the park incident. And within a fraction of a moment several things occurred to me... 1- Cory's pulse was identical to that medicine man 2- Cory practices intuitive art 3- I never asked about his birth 4- Medicine, intuitive, empathic people, are often born traumatically. And then I got a taste in my mouth, you can see it moments before I asked the question. And within that taste... I got the information about his birth. Kind of like synesthesia. After the cut and finally gaining control over my smile, the next words out of my mouth were... "Sometimes I surprise myself."
