ARRIVING HO CHI MINH CITY Airport / SAIGON Airport - Arrival Process Disembarkation to Arrivals

Arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam is an essential part of the travel experience for anyone visiting this vibrant city. If this is your first time flying into Ho Chi Minh City Airport, this video will give you an overview of the entire arrival process. The footage starts with our disembarkation from the plane, and from there, we make our way to the Immigration and Passport Control area (note: Vietnam visa clearance is not shown, as filming is not allowed in this section of the airport, which is standard practice worldwide). Once we've passed through Immigration, we head to the Baggage Claim Area, where we explain how to determine which baggage belt your flight's luggage will be unloaded on. After receiving our luggage, we proceed to the customs area, where things work a little differently than other airports. Unlike many airports that have separate lanes for "Nothing to Declare" and "Something to Declare", Tan Son Nhat International Airport requires all passengers to run their luggage through a security scanner. This allows customs officials to check the contents of your baggage before you proceed. Once we've cleared customs, we arrive at the main arrival hall, which is where things like currency exchange, SIM card purchases, and transportation services (including taxis, shuttles, and limousines) are available. We provide tips on the currency exchange, advising travelers to shop around for the best rates, as exchange rates are negotiable, and there can be a large price difference between kiosks. We also opted for a taxi service to take us to the city center, and the fixed price for the ride was 200,000 Vietnamese Dong, which we found to be fair, though some travelers might find metered taxis to be cheaper. However, as this was our first visit, we chose the fixed-price option to avoid potential issues with untrustworthy taxi meters. The video ends as we step out of the airport and find our taxi to Ho Chi Minh City.
