Everywhere you go in the city — cars, crowds, congestion. Why does Seoul feel so cramped, and why do new towns built to solve this problem often feel lifeless and isolating? This documentary questions the very structure of Korean urban design — asking whether our city planning itself is what makes modern life so exhausting. Seoul wasn’t always meant to look like this. Unlike organically grown cities, Korea’s capital and its new towns were designed — shaped by human planning that may have unintentionally created alienating, unsustainable environments. What if the cities we built to make life convenient are the same ones making us feel trapped? Through architectural and social analysis, the film examines how sprawling new cities, despite their vast land and modern apartments, lack places to go and people to meet — creating neighborhoods where one needs a car just to live. It also explores the paradox of the city: the place blamed for congestion, pollution, and inequality is, in truth, also humanity’s greatest invention — a hub of diversity, creativity, and opportunity. From small terrace apartments in Daegu to the personal stories of city dwellers and artists, the documentary captures a year-long observation of urban life with cinematic restraint and emotional depth.
