Climbing Up The Tallest Mountain In the UK (as a diabetic)... 🏔️
Hi everyone! Thanks for watching my climb up Ben Nevis as a type one diabetic of nearly 5 years. It has taken so much to produce and edit this video, I would greatly appreciate any kind of feedback. In the video, I asked if you would do anything this crazy with your diabetes - would you? Let me know in the comments. The climb lasted about 8 1/2 hours and climbing down was no easier than getting up. My sugars were nightmarish throughout and we really struggled at parts. The views were beautiful but the weather was cold, icy and snowy. Getting to the top took a lot of hard physical work and mental effort. The temperature was about -12 Celsius at the top. If you haven't already, I would watch my preparation video in which I bought and packed all of the equipment (hiking clothes, boots, diabetes supplies) required to make the climb to the top in this video.
