"Soft" weapons you've probably never heard of

I realized upon review that I missed several key talking points (and that cinder block was in the frame the whole time) so here are some of the things I failed to mention: The aklys could also be pointed (like a spear) or spiked (like a mace) The suruchin (also spelled surujin) would be used to strike boney targets like the head, nose, face, backs of hands, wrists, and knee caps. The smaller (by comparison to other soft weapons) projectile is almost impossible to see coming, and even if the rope is somehow caught or deflected, the weight can still swing around and do some damage, if not the maximum amount (plus you still have another one) The kaginawa was originally used as a sort of short-range grappling hook. Getting to places like roof tops etc that wold be just out of reach for most people and therefore not likely to be looked at first. In almost all disciplines, "soft weapons" are generally considered to be very advanced. Students usually have to go through years of training fundamentals, and years more training with rigid weapons, before advancing to soft weapons. The reason being primarily that an uncoordinated person is likely to hurt themselves (or an innocent by-stander) more than the opponent. The up side to this is that even if the opponent somehow manages to obtain your weapon, they aren't likely to know how to use it particularly well!
