Where We Stayed: New Sagarmatha Guesthouse (Jiri) Kalo Patthar Lodge (Shivalaya) We start our ultimate adventure to Everest Base Camp and the Three Passes trek in Nepal by following the ancient route to Everest, starting in the historical town of Jiri, also known as the 'Switzerland of Nepal'. This is the original route trekked by the first people to summit Mt Everest and is the classical and original trail to the world's highest mountain, which has been forgotten by many nowadays because of convenient flights to Lukla.
