The rotor of the induction motor consists of a set of copper or aluminum bars arranged in a ring shape. These bars are connected to each other by short-circuit rings. The stator of the induction motor consists of a set of coils wound around an iron core. These coils are powered by an alternating current. When the alternating current passes through the stator coils, it creates a rotating magnetic field. This magnetic field induces an electric current in the rotor. The interaction between the stator's magnetic field and the rotor's electric current generates a force that causes the rotor to rotate. Induction motors are robust and reliable motors. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to manufacture. However, they have some disadvantages, such as low efficiency and limited torque. Brushless motors, also known as brushless DC motors, operate based on the force of attraction and repulsion between two magnetic fields. The rotor of a brushless motor consists of a set of permanent magnets. The stator of a brushless motor consists of a set of coils wound around an iron core. These coils are powered by a direct current. When the direct current passes through the stator coils, it creates a magnetic field. This magnetic field interacts with the permanent magnets of the rotor, causing the rotor to rotate. Brushless motors are efficient and powerful motors. They are also quiet and have a long lifespan. However, they are more expensive than induction motors. In this video, we'll compare the two types of motors in terms of efficiency, torque, cost, durability, and application.
