China has come up with a new tactic for harassing Taiwan by exploiting gray areas, in addition to using coast guard vessels! The Coast Guard Administration released footage of a standoff last night (May 22) showing the Chinese-flagged research vessel "Tongji" deploying scientific instruments and conducting illegal surveys in the waters southeast of Eluanbi and east of Hualien Port. The Coast Guard Administration immediately drove it away by using lights and waves.
