Coniston Old Man - Lake District Walks

This is a fantastic route up Coniston Old Man in the Lake District National Park. It takes in Brown Pike, Buck Pike and Dow Crag along the way. Starting from Walna Scar Road carpark you make your way past Torver Bridge and up the far side of Brown Pike. From here on a clear day you are rewarded with fantastic views over to the west coast and the Isle of Man. The route then continues past Buck Pike and Dow Crag towards Coniston Old Man (803m) Wonderful views of Goats Water and Coniston Water accompany you all along the way to the summit itself. The decent path from the summit takes you back to the carpark past Low Water and some disused mine workings. A great easy to navigate circular route of just under 10 Kilometres taking around 4 to 6 hours to complete.
