Slicing Sounds / Side chaining with the Roland SP-808
The Roland SP-808 offers the possibility to transform incoming sound with the Step Modulator + Virtual Synthesizer. This is an amazing way to play with your existing synths and with this cool piece of Roland gear. Check out this video to learn to do it yourself! If you want to use this effect in the mix of your SP-808 samples then do the following: 1. Connect a synth to the LINE INPUT (instead of AUX) 2. SHIFT+MUTE/MIX COMMON 3. Go to Fxloc. on "MIC/LINE PRE-EQ" 4. Follow now the process of the video regarding selecting FX and turning on Step Mod. Feel free to ask questions!
