Refugees register at police station
(21 Sep 2015) Migrants and refugees crossing the Slovenian border from Croatia were being registered at a makeshift processing centre in the border town of Brezice on Monday. Over the weekend Slovenian police said more than 1,500 migrants and refugees had entered the country with hundreds more are waiting at the border crossings with Croatia to get in. Police said one third of the registered refugees said they were from Syria and another third from Afghanistan. The rest say they are from Iraq and various other nations in the Middle East, Asia or Africa. In the Slovenian city of Celje on Monday, migrants and refugees leaving a reception centre were taken to a train station, where they could buy tickets for trains going to Austria.
