Majnu Ne Shehar Chora, Tu Sehra Bhi Chor De || Allama Iqbal Poetry || Abdul Mannan Official

Gazal by Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal Majnu Ney Shehar Chora Tu Sehra bhi Chor Dey Nazary ki Hawas ho to Laila bhi Chor Dey Taqleed ki Rawish sy to behtar hy Khud kushi Rasta bhi Dhoond , Khizr ka Soda bhi Chor Dey. As you know the poem is derived from the “Bang-e-dara” which is classical Urdu poetry book by a great poet, philosopher & politician, as well as an academic, barrister & scholar Dr. Alama Muhammad Iqbal. Now I would like to describe about the poem what the great personality described in it. In the first verses, he said “Majnoon” just abandoned habitation. You should abandon wildness also- if there would be ambition for sight, you should abandon “Layla” also. Then Iqbal said: O Preacher! Perfection of abandonment attains the objective. As you have abandoned the world, abandon the hereafter also- leave everything. In 3rd couplet he said that to commit suicide is better than teaching of another. Seek your own path abandon the love of “Khizar” also. He said if you have an un Islamic message on your tongue, you are like a pen which writes but write useless. He said in this situation you should abandon unjustified pride because you have un Islamic objects. He said real theology exists only when you have love for “pathos” in your heart otherwise it’s meaningless. Similarly if you are not wounded you should abandon fluttering also. If you are making virtues and crying for your sins then cry as a dour drop on the flowers & leave the garden. Abandon the desire of staying in this garden also. He further said; worshiping does not need any specific place because the custom of love is abandonment of all. Abandon Temple, Mosque and church also because you are not making contracts and running any business. This is “Ibadat” of “GOD”. So O Ignorant! Abandon the desires of rewards. He said, I bearded hardships on myself and I am not connecting with others but Alas! I am the oppressor, I am ignorant. I existed till that time the splendor appeared and I am the falsehood which will dismay by the truth. He said: I am with knowledge’s sea come out with the pearls in my hand. Alas! O deprivation! a mere pebble collection on the sea shore. My disgrace itself is the demonstration of my nobility because I am the negligence of which the “Malik” desire. So now the last but not the least, he trying to demonstrate, O Iqbal! I am in constant search of myself but I am the traveler as well as I am the destination…..
